Tropical Ambition was formed In 2010 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Tiago Rouede (guitar and vocals), Glauco Romano (bass) and Anton Verdoorn (drums), who are long time friends from the local music scene, are these days marching foward to the same direction: after their goals and dreams.
The music of this power trio show diverse influences that are almost always guided through the energy of Rock'n'Roll with small portions of the plurality of alternative music, the sadness of blues, and the freedom of jazz, which are absorbed with their personal experiences in life and on the stage. During the 2 years of their existence, still in Brazilian lands, they’ve experienced their setlist in concerts and cultural events around the city, dialoging with many audiences.
As a result, in 2012, the band presented 2 different albums simultaneously which were recorded and mixed by the band,in their drummers own studio. The first album called "Monostereos has 11 tracks with lyrics in Portuguese and has a more stripped down atmosphere. The second album,"Ars long, vita brevis", (that also contains 11 tracks and is in English) reveals a sound that’s structured with new elements. An 11 track Studio Live Session that was also recorded in Rio de Janeiro, has an additional 2 tracks and 1 cover. The cover is a version of ’Lithium’, in loving memory of Nirvana, whose album ’Nevermind’ celebrated its 20th anniversary
in 2011 and has had a big influence on the band.
Betting everything in this legendary love for music and work they've created with dedication and an enormous pleasure, Tropical Ambition, get all their things together and trip in this European Journey, to be more precise, in Berlin, Germany, to open wide new horizons in their personal and musical lives, willing to expand more and more this exchange with new audiences and culture.
